Africa Rural Institute
Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world
– Nelson Mandela
“Primary school enrolment in African countries is among the lowest in the world. Limited funds and a lack of adequate teachers, classrooms, and learning materials adversely affect the educational environment throughout most of Africa.” (USAID)
To tackle this increasing problem, Africa Needs has set a goal to build as technology driven institutions to decrease the level of illiteracy in Africa. The Africa Rural Institute(s) will be primary/middle schools (K-8), with an emphasis on literacy (reading/writing) as well as technology. We want to train and educate children to grow up with technology in their site. Taking this route will mean that they will learn to utilize technology in many ways such as solving their every day problems in their villages, their respective countries, and ultimately, in all of Africa.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
